Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
American actor Pat Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA this Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his family said in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, including:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
