Netflix Casts Perfect Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced this week that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bentham. Bon Clay possesses the power to change into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The actor, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that character reimagined as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action series, as in the source material and cartoon version.

The new cast member will work alongside several other fresh additions tasked with bringing Baroque Works to life, such as head Mr. 0, played by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the cast as the ruler of Alabasta.

Even though this character is a major member of the organization, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Given the next season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this represents a significant shift in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Their mix of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the character. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.

Netflix's live-action One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on March 10, 2026.
