PSG Edges Olympique de Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Lift French Super Cup in Kuwait.

Trophy celebration scene

PSG has now claimed the prestigious cup on 14 separate occasions.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a dramatic leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to overcome Marseille in the Gulf and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup title.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward win in the match featuring the French league champions and the French Cup winners after the French winger opened the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, Marseille struck twice late to seize a surprise lead. Initially, Mason Greenwood converted from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a breathtaking turn of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital leveler in the final moments to force the contest into a penalty shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Chevalier then stood as the hero, stopping crucial kicks from O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Goncalo Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all converted successfully for PSG to complete a 4-1 shootout victory.

The record winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now won this competition for the 12th time in the past thirteen years.
